Richard J. Freniere, DO, FACEP

Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and a doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Freniere was previously President and CEO of Wachusett Emergency Physicians in Leominster.
 
He began his career as a staff physician in Emergency Medicine at Leominster Hospital; he also served as Chief Medical Officer, President and CEO of the local Independent Physicians Association. A graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, he received his doctorate from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Science in Des Moines, Iowa; conducted his Internship at Metropolitan Hospital, Philadelphia; and completed his Residency at UMass Medical Center in Worcester. Dr. Freniere is a resident of Paxton.

 




Rock Jean-Guillaume, DO, FACEP

Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and a doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.  Dr. Jean-Guillaume is the Director of the Emergency Department at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer.
 
He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut and his doctorate from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.   He completed his Internship at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing, Michigan and his Residency at Michigan State University, Sparrow Hospital and Ingham Regional Medical Center Emergency Medicine.  He has achieved active certificates in Pediatric Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instruction, Advanced Trauma Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation.  Dr. Jean-Guillaume is a resident of Charlton.

 




Donald P. Jackel, DO, FACEP

Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and a doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Don joins us from Wachusett Emergency Physicians, PC (WEP), UMASS Memorial Health Alliance Hospitals. 

He has served as Department Chair and Clinical Director of Wachusett Emergency Physicians in Leominster and is affiliated with the emergency department at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Southern Maine, Don received his doctorate from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine; and conducted his Internship at UMass Medical Center, where he also completed his Residency in Coordinated Emergency Medicine. He is a resident of Worcester.




Peter W. Rugg, MD, FACEP

Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, Peter joins us from the Emergency Medicine departments of Hahnemann and Worcester City hospitals. 

He was attending physician and Life Flight Medical Evacuation Helicopter Physician at University of Massachusetts Hospital, Worcester. Peter also was assistant chairman, Department of Emergency Medicine, Leominster Hospital; and chairman, Department of Emergency Medicine, and attending physician in emergency and urgent care medicine at UMass Memorial HealthAlliance.

He received a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, cum laude, from Amherst College and his M.D., from UMass Medical School in Worcester. After residencies in internal medicine at Worcester Memorial and Worcester City hospitals, he was an instructor and assistant professor of Emergency Medicine at UMass Medical School. He is a resident of Worcester.




Karen-Whitley Bishop, PA-C

Board Certified as a Physician Assistant, Karen joins us from HealthAlliance in Leominster. 

She worked as a Physician Assistant-Certified for more than 20 years in the emergency department at HealthAlliance Leominster & Burbank Hospitals, and previously was a research assistant at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston.

Karen received a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from the University of Iowa after earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in biological sciences from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley. She is a resident of Rutland.
